ABODE Treatment, Inc. in the process of developing a substance abuse treatment program specifically for those individuals who have been assigned or required to participate in a work release program.  This program is being designed to assist local criminal justice authorities with the ever increasing problem of “over crowding” in the various county/city jails. 

Today the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is approaching 97+% occupancy.  This places them in a position that if continued to persist will result in violation of the Ruiz Mandate.  Consequently, TDCJ is currently not taking inmates consistently from the various jurisdictions.  Therefore, it is apparent that smaller municipalities are having to hold their inmates in the various county/city jail systems.  With this in mind, we believe our program will benefit those jail systems that are currently being stretched to capacity.
