ABODE Treatment, Inc. provides a plethora of residential and outpatient/aftercare substance abuse treatment services. These services range from Intensive Residential to Supportive Outpatient Services. Both residential and outpatient/clients receive personalized group and individual counseling facilitated by licensed professionals.

Clients come from various populations and economic strata.

Residential Service:

  • Intensive Residential Treatment, and

  • Transitional Residential Treatment (Rehab)

The Intensive Residential Treatment Program is the most intensive program, where clients attend more than 20 hours of counseling activity per week. The program duration is typically 30 to 90 days.

Transitional Residential Treatment clients attend four hours of group and individual counseling daily. During this phase of treatment, clients are allowed to seek employment through ABODE's job placement assistance program. When employed, clients receive a minimum of six hours of counseling per week. (Six hours per day is available.) The duration of this phase is typically 30 to 90 days.

Clients learn the basics of attaining and maintaining a chemical-free lifestyle. Residential counseling is based on the Therapeutic Community model, with strong emphasis on the Cognitive Therapeutic approach, which is considered one of the most effective therapeutic approaches for substance abuse treatment. The curriculum, based on the 12-step model of recovery, includes:

  • Anger Management,

  • Family counseling for family members and significant other,

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training: Budgeting, Cooking, Nutrition, Personal Hygiene

  • Dual Disorder Counseling.

Clients who do not have a high school diploma or GED equivalent are encouraged to attend GED classes offered at ABODE residential. Under the guidance of a professional educator, clients have access to an on-site computer lab to aid them in their studies and skills development. All residential clients are tested to determine their education levels. If they are not at the eighth grade level or better, they are encouraged to participate in the GED preparation program.

Outpatient Services:

Outpatient clients typically receive 2 hours of group counseling per week, and a minimum of 1 hour of individual counseling per month. The duration of the outpatient program is generally 6 to 12 months.

There is a very high percentage of substance abusers who have been diagnosed with behavioral and addictive problems that can be alleviated by proper treatment. Many of these problems occur because of a lack of the "basics" needed to function within society. Thus the acronym:

A. Adult

B. Basic

O. Opportunity

D. Development

E. Environment
